Upcoming Wine & Food Pairing Events

 

Throughout the year, Communion offers the unique opportunity to explore carefully curated menus and tasting experiences with local and visiting chefs and winemakers.  From seasonal flavors to exploring lesser known varietals and independently run winemaking programs, these events are designed to educate, excite and expand your palate. Some of these events are first come, first served but others are limited to reservations only which can be make using OpenTable below. We look forward to hosting you at one of our upcoming epicurean adventures.

Summer 2023 Events

 

June 25th at 7PM

 

BUCKLE FAMILY WINES & COMMUNION

 
This 5 Course Food and Wine Paring Demonstration will feature the wines of Buckel Family, based in Gunnison, CO. Buckel Family Wine, is an award-winning, family-owned and operated winery nestled on the Western Slope in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. While wine may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Colorado, we dare you to think — and drink — differently. The Buckel family took root here by virtue of an adventurous dream (and a touch of foolishness), and are proud to cultivate Colorado’s growing wine culture. Food will be prepared by Chef and Somm Dustin Clements, and paired by Somm Oulli Durham. The menu will feature Colorado meats and produce, sourced from local farms. ($250 pp)

June 29th at 7PM

 

LA CADEAU VINEYARD & COMMUNION

 
Enjoy a four course wine paired dinner with Tom Mortimer of Le Cadeau Vineyards in Oregon. Chef Dustin Clements and Sommelier Oulli Durham will guide you through a wonderful tasting of Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley of Oregon. ($200 pp)

LOBSTER ROLLS for AMERICA

 
Join us in celebrating the birthday of our fair land with one of America’s favorite casual delicacies, lobster rolls! This event is first come, first served so make sure you get here early for the fireworks in your mouth. (Market price)

CHEF MIKE GUSKEA of AEMONO

 
A delightful return of one of Telluride’s most loved Chefs. Dustin worked with Mike for many years before the closing of Aemono, and both thought it would be fun to get the gang back together. Mike and Dustin will be working togethe to create a menu of both old favorites and exciting new dishes. The meal will be expertly paired by Oulli Durham. This will be a dinner not to miss! ($250 pp)

TOUR of the AMERICAS

 
Join us as we travel through north and south America, to enjoy flavors we don’t always consider to be paired with wine. We will enjoy 5 courses by Chef Dustin Clements with beverages curated by Sommelier Oulli Durham.

CRUISING the MEDITERRANEAN

 
Enjoy the flavors of the Mediterranean as we explore food from countries across the sea. Taste Greece, Spain, Morroco, and more in this 5 course tasting menu by Chef Dustin Clements, with pairings from Sommellier Oulli Durham. ($250 pp)

The San Juans are known world wide for the amazing mushrooms harvested here. Come join us on a 5 course dinner with mushrooms in every one. ($250 pp)

TOUR of ITALY

 
Enjoy the flavors of Italy with a 5 course dinner from Chef Dustin Clements. We are bringing back one of our most popular dinners from the winter season. Look forward to some new flavors with a tried-and-true concept. Italy is one of the birthplaces of food and wine pairings and we hope to honor that with this last dinner of the summer season. ($250 pp)
